Welcome to the website of the government which owns the business you know by the trade name ECFiber.
The formal name of our government is the East Central Vermont Telecommunications District.
The District is a “special-purpose” municipality, Vermont’s first Communications Union District (CUD), formed in June 2015 under Title 24, Chapter 82 of state law.
The mission of the District is to build and operate a fiber-to-the premises (FTTP) network, and, as an internet service provider (ISP), bring world class broadband (defined as 1G symmetrical, that is, a speedtest result of 1000/1000) connectivity to every home, business and civic institution in our member towns.
